Shake well before use. Apply daily for the first 7 days. Squirrel’s habits are difficult to break so initial applications should be frequent and heavy. Spray generously around and directly on areas squirrels are chewing or frequenting. To break a pattern of habitual behavior, the repellent may need to be applied more frequently. As animals’ behavior changes, application frequency may be reduced. Re-apply weekly. Repeat applications as necessary or for maintenance.

Squirrel MACE also works as a flower bulb protection spray. Cover the bulbs in a mild coating of repellent and let them sit for 15 minutes. Let dry and replant.

Reapply after frequent or heavy rainfall. Avoid heavy spraying of plants and grass. Always test a small area before the full application. Some plants may be too delicate for this spray. In this case, spray the flowerpot or surrounding soil.

For Automotive Use: Check the engine compartments and remove any nestings before applying. Use an air compressor to remove any food or clutter. If there are signs of rodents, thoroughly wash the area with soap and water to prevent them from returning. For vehicle protection, including but not limited to, cars, trucks, tractors, cabins, boats, motor homes, etc. Spray onto engine compartments, wheel wells, wirings, and anywhere else you can reach. Spray around the outside of the vehicle to establish a perimeter.

Remove all food sources. If anyone around is feeding squirrels, kindly ask them to stop. A starving squirrel may bypass the repellent to obtain food (including bird seed). This repellent can be used to protect bird feeders, but do not expect 10/10 results. For protecting patio furniture, consider spraying a sponge, towel, or paper towel with the repellent and placing it behind each seat cushion.

To help prevent squirrels from eating seed from feeders, consider adding food-grade chili powder, capsaicin, or cayenne/habanero pepper to the bird seed. Birds are not capable of sensing the spice whilst rodents are. You can do this yourself, just be sure to wear gloves and follow the necessary precautions. You can also consider using traps to relocate the squirrels.

For larger areas, and for when squirrels are more persistent, we recommend the concentrated formulas.
