How It Works The Ultrason X from Bird-X, Inc. is a high-quality professional-grade ultrasonic (silent to most humans) bird chasing system. The first ultrasonic repeller specifically designed for year-round use in semi-enclosed areas, the unit operates by creating soundwaves that are above the range of most humans’ hearing, effectively getting rid of birds while maintaining a comfortable environment for people. As a result, pest birds are simply redirected elsewhere. Aesthetics are greatly improved and the nuisances and cleanup associated with birds eliminated. Due to the nature of ultrasonic sound waves, which are non-species specific, this unit is capable of bothering ALL bird species, including pigeons, seagulls and gulls, sparrows, starlings, crows, blackbirds, grackles, swallows, and countless others, as well as bats, rodents, and other small animals. Where to Use Most ultrasonic units only work indoors, but this device is so powerful it can be used in medium-sized semi-enclosed outdoor areas. While the unit is weather resistant, it is recommended for use in semi-enclosed spaces such as gas station canopies, parking garages, warehouses, semi-enclosed outdoor patios, retail spaces, hotels, courtyards, underpasses, schools, hospitals, work stations, manufacturing facilities, and other areas. Installation This unit includes the control unit, 100ft of wire per speaker, and 4 speakers capable of emitting powerful high-frequency ultrasonic waves which may be set in various directions to best fit the treated space. Weather-resistant NEMA-type box is designed to withstand outdoor use, but caution should be used in cases of extreme weather. Unit also includes AC adapter with cord, DC battery cables, and complete instructions. Each system covers up to 3,600 sq. ft. Speakers: 8 ohms, 75 watts.
